We’ve all had days we want to pack up, grab a ticket somewhere and head off on an adventure. But are you really ready to do it? Join us for our first Twitter Party and learn more about what it takes to jump into the expat lifestyle when your family is along for the ride.
Not familiar with Twitter Parties? Think of it as a fun, informal gathering of like-minded individuals coming together to chat on a given topic — but online. The much quicker and cooler grandchild of the chat room, Twitter Parties are moderated by a host or two who throw out questions to the group and share great responses with the rest of the party. You can simply follow the hosts and keep tabs on your timeline in Twitter, or use the features on TweetChat to get a real-time, full-on experience.
Our first chat will take place Tuesday, April 24, 2012, when we will be joined by the fabulous Grace F. of sandierpastures.com, a blog about being an expat in Dubai. Grace has lived in numerous countries, including Japan and the UAE, and made the latest move with husband and kids in tow. On her blog she shares personal trials and triumphs as she acclimates to the warmer temps, the crazy traffic and the cultural difference of her new home, all with two young kids. During the party, she’ll answer your questions about becoming an expat, moving kids, and how to make the transition smooth for all involved.
